Not that the video game world is surprised, given the popularity of EA's NHL series, but Xbox NHL 10 takes things to new heights. As truly incredible as the graphics to NHL 09 were, these are even more vivid and realistic. And the animation is even more fluid. The game play itself is true to its forerunner, NHL 09, which will surely make ancient devotees delighted, but simultaneously, NHL 10 contains various new facets that will offer every person an occurrence to be electrified about. A new addition that's sure to be a favorite of hardcore gamers is the post-whistle action, which, as you can probably figure out, lets gamers have it out after the whistle is blown. So you have the opportunity to get the viewers getting up and applauding for you - provided you complete several unbelievable plays, naturally. Perchance we are being a tad too severe for this situation, nevertheless here's another notion to take into account.} See what your pop was doing for video game entertainment in his time, after you've given Xbox NHL 10 the once over.} This was before the revolution that gave us 8-bit and then 16-bit games - 4K was as good as it got. And this was what people saved up their cash and purchased in the early 1980s, if they wanted to play a sports video game - these gamers did not have it easy:}
Though any resemblance to a sports video game is purely coincidental by today's standards, these graphics were once considered cutting edge.} All you had were four men on the non-scrolling rink. A player and his goalie. You certainly couldn't select your favorite team. Get this.} When this cartridge came out, it was regarded as a breakthrough sports video game, a favorite in the video game world.} No kidding - that game is the thing that video game admirers kept awake for the night playing for the duration of long ago.} Primitive graphics and non-existent sound effects were all the rage in '82, apparently. Much thanks has to be awarded to EA, who raised the standard extra loftier for sports video games with their latest chapter.} The players' facial expressions alone are amazing - they've got more life and attitude than the cast members of your girlfriend's favorite daytime dramas. Then there are the fight scenes, which boast a first person perspective that you won't believe.} It's as if you're actually looking at a pair of fists pummeling the crap out of you, but without the bruises, blood and possible concussions.} As in NHL 09, familiar voices Gary Thorne and Bill Clement join the action with their on-the-money commentary. Having these two on hand is nothing to scoff at, either.} Consider the credentials of these two.} ESPN big shot and NHL All-Star legend Bill Clement is but one half of the announcing team.} And Clement's cohort Gary Thorne, another one from the ESPN team, is a pretty impressive sports figure in his own right.} You won't believe your ears after catching Clement and Thorne's remarks about the game.} The level of realism in Xbox NHL 10 is so high, you'll think you've got the ESPN duo sitting right next to you in your home.

In this game, the player has far more impact on the puck's overall speed, as opposed to the earlier entries in the NHL video game series. And for those of you who've really mastered your slap shot, you can bank your passes off of the board.}
Hardcore gamers can, for the first time, battle on the boards, as Xbox NHL 10 presents still more upgrades that will excite the video game world. You heard me - now, when you're in possession of the puck but are pinned up against the boards, you have the ability to stop your rival from nabbing the puck, by kick-passing it to a teammate. Then again, if the tables are turned and you're the one doing the pinning, you'll really give him a run for his money - provided you're the better man on the ice.}
